In a startling revelation, the Congress party has brought to light a series of clandestine meetings between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the officials of the Communist Party of China (CPC) dating back to 2008. This revelation has sparked widespread curiosity and concern, prompting questions about the nature of the relationship between the two political entities.

According to the Congress, there have been at least 12 documented meetings between BJP politicians and CPC officials, with most of them taking place within the borders of China itself. The timing and frequency of these encounters have raised eyebrows, especially in the wake of significant geopolitical events such as the Doklam clash in 2017.

“Ever since June 2020, when the outgoing Prime Minister gave China a clean chit for its actions in Ladakh, the people of India have been asking why the BJP is so unwilling to stand up to China. Are the close links between the BJP and the Communist Party of China behind this?” remarked Pawan Khera, Chairman of the AICC media department, in a statement addressing the issue.

The Congress has demanded a comprehensive record of the minutes of these meetings, urging the BJP to elucidate the purpose and outcomes of each encounter. Questions linger about what transpired during these interactions and why they occurred with such regularity.

“Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (What is this relationship called)? Why have these two parties met so frequently? When BJP cadre went to the Communist Party ‘School,’ what were they taught? Why did BJP-RSS leaders meet with the CCP in the same month as the June 2017 border clash at Doklam?” questioned Khera, reflecting the public’s curiosity regarding the matter.

Furthermore, the Congress has disclosed details of all 13 meetings between the BJP and the CPC, citing instances such as a 15-member Chinese delegation visiting the BJP Central Office in October 2008. Rajnath Singh, at the time, purportedly emphasized the BJP’s inclination towards fostering positive ties with China, as highlighted by the Congress leader.

The revelation of these meetings underscores the complexities of diplomatic relations and raises pertinent questions about transparency and accountability within the political sphere. As the public clamors for answers, the spotlight remains firmly fixed on the BJP, awaiting a response to these pressing inquiries.
