Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala – Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty has taken charge as the Chairman of the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy (KSCA), the state’s top institution for promoting cinema. The government announced this on Friday through the Department of Cultural Affairs.
The KSCA plays a key role in supporting Malayalam cinema. It organizes film festivals, workshops, and programs to highlight Kerala’s rich movie heritage. By appointing Pookutty, the Academy gains global experience and decades of expertise in filmmaking.
New Leadership Team
Along with Pookutty, actress Kuku Parameswaran will serve as Vice-Chairperson. She also works as the General Secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). Because of her experience, she is expected to help launch new programs for actors and filmmakers.
Meanwhile, C Ajoy will continue as the Academy’s Secretary, providing stability as the new team takes charge.
