Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive gathering following the ‘pran pratistha’ rituals at the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, declaring, “Our Ram has finally arrived.”
Expressing the profound significance of the moment, the Prime Minister remarked, “I have come before you as you witness the divine consciousness in the temple’s sanctum sanctorum. There’s so much to say, but there’s a lump in my throat. After unprecedented patience, innumerable sacrifices, and penance, our Lord Ram has arrived. I congratulate the country on this occasion.”
Referring to Ram Lalla, PM Modi stated that the deity will “no longer live in a tent.” Describing the consecration as a blessing from Lord Ram, he asserted that January 22 is “not a date on a calendar, but the dawn of a new era.”
Drawing a parallel between the consecration ceremony and breaking free from a mindset of slavery, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for being alive to witness this historic event. He emphasized that people will remember this moment even after thousands of years, attributing it to the supreme blessings of Lord Ram. PM Modi sought forgiveness from the deity, acknowledging any lapses that might have led to the delay in reaching this point.
Highlighting that “Ram’s existence was questioned,” the Prime Minister acknowledged Lord Ram’s representation in India’s Constitution and thanked the Supreme Court for upholding the dignity of law.
Addressing concerns that the construction of the Ram Temple would ignite conflicts, PM Modi asserted that those who thought so failed to understand the purity of India’s social consciousness. He characterized the temple as a symbol of India’s peace, patience, and mutual harmony, emphasizing that it had not sparked a fire but had generated energy.
“Ram is not a fire; he is an energy. Ram is not a dispute; he is a solution. Ram is not just ours; he is everyone’s,” declared PM Modi, emphasizing the inclusive nature of Lord Ram. He added, “Today, we did not just witness the pran pratishtha of Ram Lalla’s idol but also the pran pratishtha of the unbreakable unity of India.”
Looking ahead, PM Modi outlined a vision for the country’s future development, stating, “Ram’s temple has been built. Now what? Every citizen’s consciousness should extend from dev (god) to desh (country) and from Ram to rashtra (nation).”
