Alappuzha: The Cherthala police has booked Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) K. G. Biju of Joint Regional Transport Officer’s Office, Cherthala, under Scheduled Caste /Scheduled Tribes (prevention of atrocities) Act for caste slur against a colleague.

According to the police, the first information report has been registered on Monday against Mr Biju, based on a complaint lodged by N.T. Kishorkumar.

”The incident happened on August 24 following a dispute over job-related issues. We have recorded the statement of the petitioner. The investigation is underway’, said Circle Inspector K.G. Mohanlal.

Meanwhile, Mr Biju, the accused, refuted the allegation levelled against him and claimed that the petition was false.

He also said that legal action will be taken against the allegations.

He said that he was not present at the office at the time of incident mentioned in the complaint.
