Kochi: As part of Navy Week activities, special children and senior citizens of Kochi were hosted at Naval Base here on Wednesday.

About 60 children as well as 25 staff members from various special schools and around 50 senior citizens were provided a glimpse of activities at Naval Base through a guided tour which lasted more than three hours.

The visitors were taken on-board the Indian naval ships Sunayna and Shardul. Besides, a naval exhibition and screening of a film on Indian Navy were showcased for the visitors.

The children and the senior citizens also witnessed a precisely executed Continuity Drill performed by the naval personnel from the gunnery training establishment of Southern Naval Command (SNC), INS Dronacharya. They have executed a series of intricate drill manoeuvres in perfect timing with each other, without a single word of command.

The visit was organized under the aegis of the Southern Naval Command in coordination with ‘Aashirwad’ group of Navy Wives’ Welfare Association (NWWA), Southern region.
