eliance Jio has announced JioFrames, a new pair of smart glasses made to compete with Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. The launch took place at Reliance’s 48th Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The big difference is language support. While Meta’s glasses work only in English, Spanish, and Italian, JioFrames comes with an AI voice assistant that supports many Indian languages. This will make the glasses easier to use for people across India.
Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance, said, “JioFrames is a hands-free, AI-powered companion for the way India lives, works and plays. You can take HD photos, record videos, or go live — and every memory is saved in Jio AI Cloud.”
Main Features of JioFrames
- Built-in Camera – Take photos, record videos, or go live on social media.
- Cloud Storage – All media is automatically saved to Jio AI Cloud.
- AI Voice Assistant – Works in multiple Indian languages.
- Open-Ear Speakers – Lets you take calls, listen to music, or attend meetings.
Reliance had first shown JioFrames at the India Mobile Congress 2024, but did not share launch or price details. At the AGM, the company also announced a new AI partnership with Meta.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the goal is to bring open-source AI models to Indian businesses. He added that with Reliance’s reach, AI can help boost productivity and creativity across India.
With this launch, Jio is aiming to make AI-powered smart glasses available to millions of people in India.
