Oppo Find X8 gets July 2025 update with new AI camera tools and system upgrades

Oppo has officially rolled out the July 2025 ColorOS 15 update for its flagship device, the Oppo Find X8. Tagged with firmware version CPH2651_15.0.0.840(EX01), the update package weighs around 1.01 GB and introduces a host of AI-powered camera improvements, system-level optimizations, and usability enhancements designed to elevate the overall smartphone experience.

AI Upgrades to Camera and Photos App

One of the most notable additions in the update is found within the camera suite. Oppo now offers a soft light filter in both Portrait and Photo modes, helping users enhance lighting conditions for more polished and visually appealing shots.

The Photos app receives two major AI-based tools:

  • AI Group Photo Composer: This feature allows users to add more people to existing group photos intelligently.
  • AI Perfect Shot: This tool automatically detects and improves facial expressions of the same person across different images, combining them into a single, better photo.

Additionally, users can now hide selected albums from the main photo interface, making content organization more private and user-friendly.

Breeno Memory and Smarter App Control

The Breeno Memory tool has been enhanced with a new “Save to Mind Space” option. This allows users to capture on-screen content, which is then auto-summarized and stored for future reference. This feature is especially useful for saving key information, reminders, or moments quickly and efficiently.

System Apps and Interface Improvements

Several system applications and interface elements have also received functional updates. The Clock app now includes a gradual alarm volume option, making morning wake-ups less jarring. The Recorder app has gained improved organization features, including customizable grouping and a new “In-person recordings” category, which sorts content based on modes such as Standard, Meeting, or Interview.

The update also allows for font customization, enabling users to switch between OPPO Sans and One Sans in more languages than before. Widget stacking is now supported, provided the widgets are of the same size, helping users save space and streamline their home screen layout.

Advanced Controls and Performance Fixes

Multi-tasking has also been enhanced with the multi-screen control feature, which allows one app to run in full-screen while another operates in a floating window. A new function temporarily blocks banner notifications during gaming or video playback, reducing distractions for users.

Other key additions include a Restart shortcut in Quick Settings for faster reboots, draggable mini windows that can be moved to the bottom of the screen, and various display location fixes to improve visual consistency. The update also integrates the Android security patch for July 2025, ensuring the device remains secure and up-to-date.
