KOCHI: Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) received two major projects worth over Rs 6.25 crore under Performance Linked Encouragement for Academic Studies and Endeavour (PLEASE), a project under higher education department.
The project under the Centre for Aquatic Animal Health will receive around Rs.3.75 crore and the project for developing various sensors will get the rest. P Jayesh and T P Sajeevan will lead the project to develop biomedical molecules and K Girish Kumar, senior professor at the department of applied chemistry, will lead the project to develop sensors which is a combined project of environmental studies, biotechnology, photonics and electronics.
Cusat vice-chancellor K N Madhusudanan said that it is a great achievement for the varsity in the golden jubilee year. TNN
