Kerala: Dalit woman auto driver decides to convert to Islam after facing caste discrimination by CPM

The woman autodriver had earlier alleged that CPM activists are not allowing her to continue with her livelihood. Moreover, the party people torched her autorickshaw.

A Dalit woman, Chithralekha who grabbed headlines after she fell into a dispute with the union leaders over working as an autorickshaw driver at Edatt in Payannur, Kerala earlier this year, is planning to convert to Islam after facing severe caste discrimination by the Communist Party of India (Marxist).

According to a report in Mathrubhumi, Chithralekha alleged that CPM is not letting her live as she belongs to the Pulaya community.

“I was forced to run away from my village as they did not allow me to live there. Still, they are continuing to torture me. I decided to convert to Islam as I lost hope to get justice,’ wrote Chithralekha in her Facebook post.

The woman autodriver had earlier alleged that CPM activists are not allowing her to continue with her livelihood. Moreover, the party people torched her autorickshaw.

After facing a continuous attack from the party, Chithralekha has decided to convert to Islam. “I have fought against CPM to live for more than 20 years. Now, I have lost hope to get justice. Don’t dare to attack me saying matters like Love Jihad or money over my religious conversion,” wrote Chithralekha.
